Visiting the doctor
- When visiting the doctor prepare your questions
ahead of time. Have them in writing for your reference. Stay on the topic!
Don't hand the doctor anything to read until your discussion is over.
If you hand your doctor a piece of paper, he/she will start reading,
and his/her focus will no longer be on you and your questions
- Keep your specialist hospital
telephone numbers handy with a list of all your current medication. Take
this with you if you ever visit a new hospital or doctor.
- Have an annual
flu vaccination and get vaccinated against pneumonia but be sure to
check with your PH team first.
- Patients with PH are often advised against not to take medication that contain a decongestant – ask your PH team for advice.
Don’t forget the PHA–UK will assist with a whole variety of things, including information, putting you in touch with others, providing a friendly ear and the consideration of financial assistance.
