Tell your story
An essential ingredient in the success of the campaigns conducted over the past years has been the PH stories that have appeared on-air and in print. These have provided a valuable insight into people living with PH, which we know has made a huge impact with readers and listeners across the UK.
Increasingly the media at both a local
and national level are only interested in
covering medical issues that relate to
an uncommon condition such as PH.
These issues have to be backed up
by the first hand experiences of an
individual or family so that their audience/
readership can relate to them. These
are known as ‘case studies’.
The PHA-UK members who have put themselves forward to help raise awareness and understanding of PH and the issues that PH patients face by acting as case studies have been fantastic. However, as magnificent as they have been a great many have featured in the media a number of times and in order to build upon the success of the last two years and expand media coverage, we need new members to come forward to‘pick up the baton’.
Let your voice be heard!
We are looking
to offer members who would be prepared to act as case
studies the chance to participate in one
of a series of media training seminars
we aim to promote across the UK.
The one-day seminars will be conducted
by Paul Pennington of UK
Health Matters and designed to be a fun and
enjoyable introduction into the workings of
the media and a great opportunity to
meet other PHA-UK members at the same
time. They will be free of charge, take
place at weekends and at a location in
close proximity to where you live.
So if you’d be prepared to act as a case study and would be interested in participating in a media training seminar local to you please email: paul@ukhealthmatters.com or call 0207 2723 915 at your earliest convenience. Thank you
