PHA-UK Awareness Week - 23rd to 28th April 2007

Lack of awareness of Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is one of the major reasons why a great many people with the condition have to wait a bewildering amount of time before being correctly diagnosed and treated.  Therefore the theme for this year’s awareness initiative is ‘Early Diagnosis, Best Prognosis’

With the National Institute of Clinical Excellence health technology appraisal of PH treatments taking place this year, it’s more important than ever for us to do whatever possible, to raise awareness of PH and the impact it has on the lives of patients, their families, friends and carers.

As in previous years, PHA-UK will be mounting a concerted media campaign throughout the year.  Spearheading this years initiative are 12 families from across the UK whose lives are touched or affected by PH.

How You Can Help!!

We want to make as many people as possible aware of PH and that means, with your support, extending our reach far and wide.  At PHA-UK we are blessed by a determined membership who have done so much for each other, and for those yet to be diagnosed through their fundraising efforts, but there is so much more that we’d like to achieve on your behalf.  So if you can, please, please help.

Our special PH Awareness publication contains a number of ideas for how you, your friends, family and supporters can embrace the joy of six!! - and no, that wasn’t a misprint!!

Let Us Know

If you are planning to lend a hand during PH Awareness Campaign we’d really like to know.
To show our appreciation for your ingenuity and hard work, six of the best fundraising ideas we hear of will not only feature in our regular newsletter ‘Emphasis’, but you’ll also be invited to our annual conference to receive an award in recognition of your service to people with PH.  Please click here and fill in the form supplied and, where required, we will send you a sponsorship pack.

There might be 1001 reasons why you can’t or don’t feel able to do what you can to help during PH Awareness Week.  It’s important that we keep generating awareness of PH and raising funds to support our work, so we’d be grateful if, perhaps, you might consider holding an event at some point in the future.  Again, please let us know by clicking here and completing our PH Awareness response form.

Whatever you are planning, if you’d like to publicise your event locally visit our new media centre pages for information and advice.

And Finally…

If you don’t feel able to get involved in this year’s activities but would like to make a donation to show your support, please click here to make a secure donation via credit/debit card.
